The volumes, hemoglobin (Hb) and hematocrit (Hct) levels of sample preparation are shown. The reference blood loss (RBL) was diluted with electrolyte solution to simulate dilution with rinsing liquids. The resulting sample blood loss volume (SBL) was then filled into the canisters and estimated by the anesthetists
