Plasma cytokines were measured by multiplex cytokine immunoassay. Box plots exhibited plasma levels of anti-inflammatory cytokines IL-10 and TGF-β1, and pro-inflammatory cytokines GM-CSF, IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-4, IL-5, IL-12, IL-13 and TNF-α (n = 26; 14 desflurane, 12 sevoflurane).
