Pretreatment with midazolam reduces the antiproliferative effect of temozolomide. Proliferation of neuroblastoma (SHEP) cells was measured by the BrdU assay. In presence of temozolomide (TMZ) 1000 μM, pretreatment with midazolam enhanced cell proliferation, whereas coincubation with midazolam had no significant impact to the TMZ-induced antiproliferative effect (n = 3-4; data are expressed as mean ± SD; * = P < 0.05)
