Arterial oxygen partial pressure (PaO 2 ) during different oscillatory frequencies with the arteriovenous extracorporeal lung assist device (ECLA) opened and closed. After lung recruitment and switching ventilation to HFOV the PaO2 was significantly higher compared with lung injury (TARDS) (§p < 0.05). PaO2 remained significantly improved with rising oscillatory frequencies compared with TARDS (§p < 0.05). The PaO2 was significantly increased at 15 Hz with the ECLA opened (* p < 0.05).
