The separation between awake and anesthetized participants necessitated a correction of k10 for the effect of general anesthesia per se and of different MAPs, which was 92 mmHg for awake volunteers (N = 106), 75 mmHg for anesthetized patients (N = 54), and an overall mean of 82 mmHg
