Flow diagram of the enrollment process: 132 patients were assessed for eligibility, of whom four declined the invitation to participate; 128 patients were randomly assigned to the test or control groups, with 64 participants in each group. Six participants were excluded from the test group, due to technical issues, intake of potentiating drugs, pacemaker, and fever. Eight participants were excluded from the control group due to technical issues, intake of potentiating drugs, body mass index ≥35 kg/m2, and change in the anesthetic method. Data from 58 participants in the test group and 56 participants in the control group were included in the analysis.
