The Multifunction Monitor. In the 1980s aviation switched from multiple analog gauges to the “glass cockpit” with a multifunction monitor as the primary flight display. Above is the primary fight flight display of the Boeing 737 aircraft. It presents the horizon (blue sky/brown earth) to provide a visual assessment of yawl and pitch. There are also algorithms analyzing data which it presents when needed in the hierarchy of importance. [Primary Flight Display.
