The samples were taken from an EL, E, and L group rat’s right middle lobe, and the view was under light microscopy. For the rats in the EL group, the alveolar structures are normal and there is no leukocyte or erythrocyte accumulation seen in the alveoli. In the E group, most of the alveoli are destroyed, and their structures are significantly altered, with numerous erythrocytes evident accompanying the damaged alveolar framework. In the L group, some alveoli are identified, and there are numerous erythrocytes observed in the alveoli. The EL, E, and L groups displayed statistical differences in the rate of damaged alveoli (0.15 ± 0.07, 0.74 ± 0.08, and 0.53 ± 0.31, respectively; P = 0.002). The rate of damaged alveoli in the EL group was significantly lower than that in the E group, P < 0.001. Magnification: 200× (left panel), 400× (right panel)
