  1. The covariates with nominal data were analysed with one of their category as reference (1) and the others compared to the reference. The univariate analysis of the other covariates showed their influence on the outcome measures studied, independent of tranexamic acid usage. (* = p < 0.05, statistically significant) (RBC – red blood cells, FFP – fresh frozen plasma, ICU – intensive care unit, BMI – body mass index, Hb – preoperative haemoglobin).
