The intersection of these surfaces with the FAt surface, in this example 4.5% desflurane (light blue horizontal surface), yields the corresponding FGF - FD combinations that attain that FAt (B). The asterixes (*) indicate the lowest possible FGF that can be used to attain 4.5% desflurane at 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 min because of the maximum 18% vaporizer setting.
